Today marks the start of Student Volunteering Week, which runs from 12-18 February.
We are looking for students to join us as volunteers. We have different volunteering opportunities available including: face to face as a Home Visitor, over the phone as a Phone Befriender, which is popular with students, or as an occasional events volunteer during the holidays.
Edan, age 20, is a Phone Befriender Volunteer for us, and calls an isolated partially sighted person we support once a week. Edan said, “I can be a Phone Befriender whilst at university. It’s one call, once a week, and fits in easily around my studies, I get as much from it, as the person I phone.”
