Senior Benefits Advisor
Part-time: 25 hours per week (days to be negotiated)
Salary: up to £18,750 pro rata (FTE up to £27,000) per annum
Sight for Surrey is looking to recruit a Senior Benefits Advisor to join and oversee the work of our busy Benefits Service, which provides specialist welfare benefits information, benefit checker assessments and support with benefit applications.
We are a leading charity commissioned by Surrey County Council supporting over 8,000 people across Surrey and offer a lifetime of support to people who are blind or partially sighted, Deaf, deafblind or hard of hearing. Established in 1922, we are a countywide charity based in Fetcham, near Leatherhead.
The post holder should be passionate about leading an effective service to those in most need. They should not be afraid to drive change and improvement. Candidates should demonstrate that they are a strong team player, with an eye for detail, and great people skills. They must thrive in a busy environment and have a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
We are looking for an individual with proven up to date benefits experience, excellent communication skills and the ability to supervise, motivate and manage people. They should complement this with strong IT skills.
A Disclosure and Barring Service will be required which we can arrange. In view of our Social Care activities, our aim is to have a fully vaccinated workforce, and we encourage and support our workers to protect themselves with available vaccinations.
Full time annual leave entitlement is 28 days per annum. Sight for Surrey complies with auto enrolment, we match contributions up to 6% using the Pensions Trust. SFS offers to pay for annual flu vaccinations and for an eye test every two years with a contribution towards work related glasses. There is currently free parking at our Head Office.
