This week is National Eye Health Week (23rd – 29th September) and did you know a shocking 19 million Brits* are not having a regular eye test?  Does this sound like someone you know? You should have an eye test at least every 2 years so why not give that person you know a little nudge.

During National Eye Health Week we will be featuring our Low Vision Specialist and Dispensing Optician, Satwinder, on why eye tests are so important.

Satwinder will also be sharing some more great top tips on how you can optimise your eye health which includes:

  • Maintaining a healthy diet
  • Having regular exercise
  • Drinking less alcohol
  • Quitting smoking
  • Live well to see well.

We will also be featuring Tony, our Resource Centre Manager who will be highlighting our protective eyewear range that can help protect your eyes from the sun and minimise the risk of cataracts. Remember to check your sunglasses have the CE mark on them for the right level of ultraviolet protection.  If you or someone you know is partially sighted and would like to visit our Resource Centre, to discover equipment on the market, that could help someone be more independent, please contact our Helpdesk to book an appointment: sightforsurrey.org.uk/contact-us/
