On October 14, our mobile Hearing and Sight service officially launched, with its first outing at Park Day Centre (Guildford). Tony Greene, our Mobile Sight & Hearing Advisor, provided expert support to four members of the public who had troubles with their hearing aids and questions about their vision impairments.

This new service is being run in partnership with deaf services provider FirstPoint, and is funded by Surrey County Council. It will run across Surrey and will visit shopping centres, care homes and clubs for the elderly, and will provide a presence at events.

Our expert staff will be able to give advice, provide information and signpost to relevant local services and networks. They will also be able to demonstrate and supply a range of specialist equipment and will offer basic equipment assessments and repairs.

In the forthcoming weeks, the mobile service will visit places including Sunbury, Cobham, Walton on Thames and Epsom. The full calendar can be found at www.sightforsurrey.org.uk/helping-you/hearing-sight-support-mobile-bus/hearing-sight-bus-calendar or you can telephone us for more information on 01372 377701.
