Sessional Communication Support Worker
Part-time (2 days a week (14.4 hours) Monday & Wednesday)
£15.15 per hour
(mileage to be paid at 45p a mile)
Sensory Services by Sight for Surrey has been established for over 100 years and is the major provider of services for people who are Deaf, hard of hearing, blind, partially sighted, and deafblind in Surrey.
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Communication Support Worker to support an employee in their role as a Deafblind Specialist Assessor.
Building a close working relationship with the Deafblind Specialist Assessor. You will be an effective communicator who demonstrates empathy and understanding. Assisting in telephone calls, provide communication and administrative support to assist in meetings and assessments with people we support and other work-related forums.
You will be proficient with British Sign Language to level 2 or above or equivalent experience. Be able to confidently provide voice over interpretation and appropriate communication support in a variety of different meetings.
You will have excellent IT and organisational skills. Excellent written and record keeping ensuring that a person’s information and needs are captured and processed accurately.
You will be a team player working well as part of a team and working flexibly, reliable and will always have an enthusiastic ‘can do’ approach.
You will be joining a highly supportive and compassionate team, passionate about promoting accessible services for people who are Deaf, hard of hearing, blind, partially sighted, and deafblind in Surrey.
