Sight for Surrey is delighted to announce that Michael More-Molyneux , Lord-Lieutenant of Surrey, has become our new President, while Cecilia Power was signed in as our new Chairman last week.
Michael More Molyneux has lived in the county all his life and he runs Loseley Park Farms. He is a former Chair of Visit Surrey and President of the Surrey County Agricultural Society. He is a main board member of the Historic Houses Association and also chairs the South East Region and is also a Director of the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre. Mr More-Molyneux lives at Loseley with his wife Sarah.
Mrs Power is a widow living in Epsom. After her husband died she felt that she still had some skills to offer and found a niche in the voluntary sector, initially by taking part in a Kings Fund pilot patient advocacy scheme at her local GP practice. This work still continues and she is very committed to the Patient Consultative Group.
When her sight began to fail and having been diagnosed with macular degeneration, Mrs Power took part in our pilot “Progress in Sight” Group and became a Sight for Surrey volunteer six years ago. Mrs Power spent 35 years in Primary Education; the last 15 was as a Headteacher so her skills lie in the field of communication and management. She became a Sight for Surrey Trustee in 2009 and Chair of the Services Sub-Committee in July 2012.
