We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded a grant of £500 as part of The Iris Simmons Community Award.

The Iris Simmons Community Award Scheme recognises the work of the late Iris Simmons, a former Mayor of Elmbridge and Crown Simmons Housing founder. The Award Scheme is designed to acknowledge and reward community initiatives that improve housing conditions and the wellbeing of older people in the Borough.

This grant will go towards Sight for Surrey’s ‘Living with Sight Loss’ days which provide an opportunity for those with sight loss to meet others and share experiences in an informal and supportive setting. In the Autumn we have two ‘Living with Sight Loss’ days arranged: 2nd October in Caterham and 11th October in Woking. There will be more information released nearer the time.

Congratulations go as well to the other winners: All Saints’ Weston Lunch Club and Lower Green Silver and Gold Club. Emma Solomons, Customer Services Director, at Crown Simmons Housing said; “We are delighted to support another three excellent causes this year through the Iris Simmons Award. We are really looking forward to seeing the positive results of this funding over the next year…”.

We are so grateful for the support from Crown Simmons Housing and Elmbridge Borough Council, as well as Cleanscapes, Gilmartins and Cyan IT Solutions for their generous sponsorship.
