11 vision impaired children and their siblings, parents and carers enjoyed a day of Watersports at Henfold Lake in Staines on Saturday 23rd May as part of the Young People’s Inclusion Programme at Sight for Surrey.

Henfold Lake is a beautiful parkland in Surrey, catering for camping, caravaning, fishing and other activities. When you arrive at Henfold Lakes you can’t help but notice the sheer beauty and cleanliness of the parkland and the variety of countryside. With 5 lakes that are part of the fishery, Henfold Lakes is also a haven for many species of birds and wildlife.

The teenagers and their families had great fun having a go at various activities that included: water-skiing; banana boating; bouncing around on the lake trampoline; and being thrown off a ringo! All of this was followed by a delicious BBQ. They were very lucky with the weather and everyone had a great time.

At Sight for Surrey, events like these would be impossible to organise without the generous financial gifts from various trust funds, individual donors and fundraising activities.
