Apprenticeship – Vision Rehabilitation Specialist

36 hours per week, Salary £23,495
Qualifying Salary Range £30,000 to £35,000

(Mileage to be paid at 45p per mile)

Sensory Services by Sight for Surrey has been established for over 100 years and is the major provider of services for people who are Deaf, hard of hearing, blind, partially sighted, and deafblind in Surrey.

 An exciting opportunity has arisen to become a Vision Rehabilitation Specialist. The successful candidate will start as an apprentice on a full-time fixed term contract while completing a 2-year apprenticeship course and off the job training.

Following successful completion of the apprenticeship course, you will be employed as a Qualified Sensory Specialist Worker on a permanent full-time contract supporting people with vision impairment and/or combined sight and hearing impairment.

As an apprentice your starting salary will be £23,495 and upon successful completion, salary for a Qualified Sensory Specialist Worker is £30,000 to £35,000

You must be committed to academic learning and able to work towards a professional qualification. You will receive a dedicated workplace mentor who will support you in your learning and off the job training.

You will join a network of learners internally and externally. Working alongside a highly supportive and compassionate multi-disciplinary team, passionate about promoting accessible services for people who are Deaf, hard of hearing, blind, partially sighted, and deafblind.
