No one left out this Christmas

Christmas should be a time for fun, friendship and making memories. But for children and adults who are blind, partially sighted, Deaf, hardof hearing and deafblind joining in can sometimes feel impossible.

Amy knows this feeling all too well.

Amy has CHARGE syndrome, which affects her vision, hearing and balance.

“There are some activities that my friends do that I can’t do, and I feel excluded.”

Our children’s Christmas party is a highlight for Amy. It’s where she met Violet, and an exchange of emails grew into a lasting friendship.

“It’s so much fun, and I get to see Violet there too. If it wasn’t for this event, I’d never have met her!”

For Amy, it’s about more than a party. It’s a chance to make friends, create memories and feel included.
