Sight for Surrey has recently enjoyed a flurry of events at its headquarters in Fetcham. On Wed 10 September, we held our Supporters’ Meeting where guests listened to an opening speech from Lesley-Anne Alexander CBE, RNIB Chief Executive and enjoyed music from the RNIB choir. Earlier in the day, we held a coffee morning for current and prospective volunteers.
The following evening (Thurs 11 September), we held an Employment Networking Evening, in conjunction with Surrey Chambers of Commerce. Businesses from across Surrey had a chance to see the technology available to people with a vision impairment and to learn how VI people can be supported in the workplace. The over-riding feedback was one of surprise at how much technology is available! Our guest speaker was David Gold, Sight for Surrey’s Business Ambassador and Chairman of West Ham Football Club.
