Administrator/Helpdesk Advisor for the Sensory Services Team

Salary: £19,843 per annum

Full-time Monday to Friday 36 hours per week

We are Sight for Surrey, an ambitious charity offering a lifetime of support to people who are blind or partially sighted, Deaf, deafblind or hard of hearing.  Our mission is to support people to overcome their day-to-day challenges, achieve their potential and lead an independent life.  Established in 1922, we are a countywide charity based in Fetcham, near Leatherhead.

We are looking to recruit a competent administrator who will be trained to support our Sensory Services Team and will also work as a Helpdesk Advisor.  Administrative responsibilities include processing referrals and client data for people from all sensory impairment categories from a variety of sources, ensuring all information is accurate.  The other role will be to work on the Helpdesk, which provides an enquiry, information and support telephone and email service.

Excellent communication, IT (including Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook) and organisational skills are required.  Candidates need to work well as part of a team and work flexibly, sometimes under pressure and have an enthusiastic ‘can do’ approach.  They need to be able empathise with people who have a sensory impairment.

A Disclosure and Barring Service check will be required, which we can arrange.  In view of our Social Care activities, our aim is to have a fully vaccinated workforce, and we encourage and support our workers to protect themselves with available vaccinations.  Full time annual leave entitlement is 28 days per annum.  Full training will be given.  For further details of the role, please see the job description.

Closing Date: 31st  May 2022
